Welcome to Age Concern
Ware has always been a caring town, and for 26 years it had an active Old Peoples Welfare Association.
In June 1974 Age Concern Ware was formed, with grants from the District and Ware Town Council’s along with donations from local business a £32,000 Day Centre was built on land leased from East Herts District Council in Priory Street Ware.
The Centre
The centre is located in Priory Street Ware. It consists of a main hall (Riverside Hall), which will accommodate up to 150 depending on the event, it also has alcohol license.
There is a large stage with modern lighting ideal for drama, music, concerts and an excellent dance floor. There is a smaller room (Garland Room), ideal for smaller meetings etc. A well modern kitchen is located in the main hall with all work tops being covered with stainless steel that meet the latest hygiene requirements.
The charity’s sources of income are somewhat limited, and to this end the centre is available for hire outside of the regular times allotted to the clubs. This income along with donations provides a valuable source of income, which helps towards the cost of maintaining the centre.
For bookings and prices please contact the Hon Secretary.
Hiring of the Facilities
The main hall and the smaller room are available for hire Friday evenings (5pm – 11pm), and Saturday and Sunday times by arrangement.
