Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good one locally? My mortgage is up for renewal.

Unless you have special needs or really want a Mortgage Advisor, I would just recomment Web Searches (e.g. CompareTheMarket, MoneySuperMarket etc.).
We needed a Buy-to-Let mortgage and saw an 'Advisor'. All he could come up with was what we found using the internet. We decided to go it alone as I couldn't see why I should pay him £550+ for nothing (he didn't really come up with a valid reason either).

I could not recommend Claire Taylor more highly - her knowledge is second to none and she can get deals not available on the High Street. Claire has been organising my mortgages for nearly 15 years now and I trust her implicitly. Her number is 07970 900082.

Allan Pennington of Sorpen Financial - 07887 500415.
http://www.sorpenfinancialsolutions.co.uk/
Highly rated and recommended & a really friendly person to deal with. He is a mortgage specialist and not just a general IFA.
I can have him call you if preferred.
