A group of people who love swimming in the open air pool in Ware. We want to make sure that everyone supports the Lido when it opens for the summer.

That sounds great New Boy. Although I am more a sinker than swimmer, I do appreciate that we are one of the few towns that still has a lido and do support its continuation.

I will be around all day on Saturday as I am helping the Carnival effort, marshalling, etc. I will definitely come over to your stall and say hi!

Ware Carnival Day Saturday July 7th - SWIM FOR £1!!

The Lido will be open from 12 noon until 5:45pm.

A special flat rate fee for everyone of £1.00 will apply!

There will be some demonstration events of water sports during the day when the pool will be cleared for swimming (more details to be confirmed).

FOWL (Friends of Ware Lido) will be running a stall at the Carnival where you will be able to purchase a bit of Lido history in the shape of the old Lido changing room baskets. We will also be selling postcards of the new Lido poster images, and running some competitions so please come and support us to help us continue our work to help keep the Lido running.

The lido depend on the generosity of the people of Ware, not just with cash but with their time. FOWL have done an amazing job getting the pool ready for opening on Saturday 11th June. There will be a last clean up day on Tuesday 7th June to get any final bits done before opening.
Please find the 2011 Season posters (jpeg) on the FOWL Group page on facebook. Please can you think of somewhere you could display one, work, school, Doctors surgery, club, village notice board? Please download to print and to email to friends. Anyone also requiring Ware Town Council Lido information leaflets for distribution can email FOWLIDO(at)GOOGLEMAIL.COM for an e-copy. Hard copies can be requested from the TownClerk(at)waretowncouncil.gov.uk.

I've told the paint is a bit unusual and hard to find as well as the fact that the water had already gone in!!

They would prefer a cash donation.
