How much? When I learnt to drive (rather a long time ago I admit) I paid 27 shillings and sixpence (£1.37 in new money) an hour with BSM for my 12 lessons :0) But there again I could buy 4 gallons of fivestar (101 octane) petrol and still get change out of £1 then as well :0)
You made me smile, John D. I used to get 4 gallons and a pint of oil for the £1 2 shillings I earned each week delivering the Sunday newspapers. The car needed both and I had about 88 miles of motoring to ration through the week ! And, to put this back on topic, that was after seven lessons to pass the test ! |

Posted - 09 Feb 2012 : 05:38:54 That's a very good price for lessons Nini. My son found it beneficial to have double lessons. He felt that an hour wasn't long enough. Good luck and happy motoring |

Posted - 08 Feb 2012 : 00:06:32 Stevenage. Avoid Stortford due to hills..! |

Posted - 07 Feb 2012 : 20:51:45 In my day (which is a while ago) the advice was that Stevenage was an easier drive but the testers were harder on you; Stortford was a harder drive and the testers went a bit easier on you. That said I failed in Stortford and passed in Leeds! |

Posted - 07 Feb 2012 : 18:09:12 The usual advice is that the driving conditions are better around Stevenage - planned road systems etc. Stortford is a big of a challenge with old streets and some steep hills. A better test of driving skills therefore ! |
