I noticed this morning that all the stock is very low in the petrol station on Widbury Hill!
I can't believe this is not a profitable petrol station, as it is the only one for miles around, and there are always long queues. So I don't for one second really think it's closing down.
I do wonder what IS going on though?
Stock take?
Change in focus to just petrol?
Changing hands?
Or yes, closing down?
Anyone know?

They certainly do valeting and various other cleaning from a pretty good exterior wash up wards., I have only had my car washed but there are prices for other services on display there.
I imagine you could wait, but a good clean should take a while! You could always take a walk into town or along the river whike the sun is shining |

Not sure they do proper inside valeting but the job they do on the outside is below par in my experience! |

I go to Oxford regularly for work and the petrol stations on the east side of Oxford seem to mostly be selling regular unleaded for £1.31 or £1.32 a litre at the moment. BP Rush Green is still at £1.38 this afternoon. |

I know it is not in Ware but if passing Morrisons in WGC they are generally at least 6 pence per litre cheaper than Widbury and nearest BP and I have noticed no difference in mpg or performance in my vehicle |

Certainly is the case, sainsbury petrol lower quality, they buy the cheapest stuff on the spot market. BP,Esso petrol contains additives to improve MPG |

It's good to see the price of fuel coming down, albeit a small amount. The Widbury hill station always seems to have a queue when I use it so I'm glad the new owners have kept it open and let's hope they make a success of it as independent fuel stations are like shops and getting fewer and fewer! |

I have friends who have expensive cars but they have no attractions for me, never seen the point and someone will only nick/damage it. But each to his own.
For me, cheap to buy and insure and no road tax is just the job. |

The engine gobbles up to 25% more fuel if it goes near a supermarket. Yes, its an oldish Aston Coupe !!
Not that I have to justify myself to anyone, but I have a 3.5litre petrol Shogun Automatic, with a 71 litre tank
Driving it around town only returns 14-17mpg.
and the reason I keep it is because I can afford to.
..and because I am not bothered by any environmental issues ... |
