Hi...Is it me or is there very little on WOL about this year's Carnival or the Olympic Torch Prossession, it is not even featured in the What's on section!! Does anyone have any more information about what to expect from the day? Is the river boat parade on this year?. I intend to go and buy a programme today which will no doubt give me some info. but it would be nice to see more about it on here! especially the Torch Parade, a very positive and exciting event, surely worth of a major feature?

Have to say that Hertford's carnival was excellent, loads of floats, great atmosphere

I've not added it to the site yet. I am terribly understaffed. I'll be online in the next few days.

Hopefully we'll get a Mercury spread like the Hertford carnival did. I went to that...it was good but I reckon ours at least matches it.

See this thread: olympic torchbearer route

Thought I would post the revised timings to Carnival Day 2012.... as you now know, The Torch should be clear of the town by 11am so our proposed timing are:

11am Carnival Parade begins in Amwell End
11.45am Boat Parade
Noon - Town Fair opens

Any of you out there with a stall booked for the Town Fair will need to be in & set up at the Priory by 10am as the roads will close at this time. There will be access to the Priory set up between 7am-10am.

We get a fairly substantial crowd for the Carnival Parade normally and have no idea how much this will increase for the arrival of the Torch Relay. If any members would be prepared to volunteer as a steward for both the Torch Relay & Carnival Parade I'd be pleased to hear from you.
