Posted - 17 May 2012 : 06:48:31 We were on the 10am from Ware on Sunday and got to Cheshunt at 11, that was after being stranded at Broxbourne for goodness knows how long. We'd been told trains were terminating at Seven Sisters but the train we were on went on to Liverpool St. Which looked a better bet that getting off at Seven Sisters. Took us 3 hours door to door, Ware to Clapham but coming back was a bit easier, roughly 2 hours! |

Posted - 16 May 2012 : 10:34:09 The train on Sunday from Hertford East were only running as far as Broxbourn. When we got to Broxbourn . The staff told as that the Stansted to Liverpool Street train would be stop for us. This it was the the driver would not open the doors he sat there for over 10 minutes and then carried on up the line |

A bit more complicated than it seems. Even if the Rule Book could be twisted to fit this particular situation it would take at least five staff on the ground to run trains between Hertford and Ware if the signalling system is completely out of action. Much as I hate to say it, a bus service is probably the easiest option.

Posted - 16 May 2012 : 09:32:23 The last time that the service was suspended between Ware and Hertford it was caused by a lightning strike on the signalling equipment. We did have thunder and lightning yesterday so I wonder if that was the cause.

Posted - 16 May 2012 : 08:51:43 I got to the station for the 7:01am train to Liverpool St. but it turned into the 7:20 to Stratford instead (so my usual train was cancelled on the quiet). I got off at Broxbourne and along came the 7:32 Ware to Liverpool Street - god knows from where, not along our line as it was completely empty! - got to work about 30 late. |
