I know there is a plane spotter thread somewhere, however I was unable to find it. Just saw an Apache helicopter gunship fly south following the A10 at Thundridge. It did look very menacing. |

| I think it was definitely an AAC aircraft, as it had the Longbow radar fitted. |

| If you saw the Stanstead program last night, it showed that the Apache often use Duxford for practice of maniuvers etc, so I expect that is why we keep seeing them going up the A10 corridor |

These were designed for function as well, but seem to be beautifully proportioned. Flew over a few times last year. I didn't manage to get any good pictures with his 'little friends' side by side.

Billywindsock That's an Airfix kit! or were you in another plane above it taking that pic as surely there's no 100 story building in Ware you could have taken that from? |

Not a kit, not in an aircraft. Good camera, low target, plenty of light. Have a go yourself . . . it's not too hard. |

| AAC Merlin Helicopter just went over Thundridge heading north following the A10. Very low, but very noisy. Impressive looking machine. |

| Spotted earlier this evening BoB Lancaster heading north low over Trapstyles Estate. Although I have seen and heard it many times it still is a magnificent sight and sound. |

I'm not a plane buff by any stretch of the imagination but out of the corner of my eye last night I did see a 'big old thing' fly over. Are you sure it was Lancaster- as I didn't think it was that big - Dakota?? |

How could you confuse a DC3 with a Lancaster??? A Lanc is a lot bigger and has twice as many engines! It was definitely a Lancaster. |

| Slightly off topic so accept my apologies, I was down at Cheshunt, where the lakes/canal is and there was a spitfire doing really impressive manoevres, loop the loop etc. Is there a museum down there or something? Can't think of an air strip except that one you can see from the M25 but then I don't know the area. |
