"(why did we end up with our tiny one anyway?) "
Either: a) Boots could not find a premesis larger at the time. b) The store size they chose was the optimal size for their projected revenue/number of customers.

I read that as Psalm 27 and thought, I don't know that quote from the Book of Psalms. I checked and it's not there! ]
You'll have to read it again, WickenMan. Psalm 27 is ALL about living in hope..... A very fine Psalm to live by |

| According to news reports, EWM could re-open up to 75 stores and rehire staff. |

| Well done Steve. There is hope! Whilst I may not be as aware of the psalms as I might be, it seems that EWM are. |

I saw that report but there was absolutely no clue as to which ones would reopen. Be nice to think that it is not another place that is permantly closed like the shop next to the Drill Hall in Amwell End. |

| EWM only want the profitable ones so if Warewolf was right and the landlord agrees to rent the shop on a monthly basis it seems likely it may re-open. |

It can't re-open soon enough in my opinion.
Its what we British love, cheap clothes made in foreign sweatshops by child labour. |

Too true - most of my suits and shirts were made in Honkers and Taiwan when I used to be on Far East runs. Can't beat 'em. Get measured up and the gear was ready for you within 24 hours - sooner if you were on a tight sailing schedule. |

We don't want a EWM in Ware - what we need is a nice Fortnum and Mason.
Come on EHDC! Listen to the people.......

F&M would be brilliant.
Shopping in a chav free environment, with uniformed men on the door preventing the great unwashed in their Adidas leisureware or any women in ugg boots with enormous bangle earings from entering.

The only flaw being EHDC have no say in the matter.
I suspect EWM don't want an EWM in Ware either, since they have one in Hertford already. |

I thought that the shop next to the Drill Hall had reopened as a pigeon loft.

| I think if they open an Edinburgh Woollen Mill in Ware then the Hertford store will lose a lot of trade. |

| Expect that is why the Ware store was on the closure list - it din;t make money and wasn't suitable for EWM expansion. Like the idea of Fortnum and Mason's, although I would prefer a mixed McDonalds/Primark to raise the tone of the High Street ;-) |

| As I am definitely a "better sort of person", I would stand inside EWM trying on thick multi-coloured cardigans and nice coats and look down on all the poorer people standing outside with their noses pressed against the windows looking in. |

I think the peacocks store should become a Marks and Spencer food store NOT A PRIMARK. I think PRIMARK would kill the High Street even more. |

What's there to kill?
Is there another clothes shop in Ware apart from the Tuesday Market?
