Has anyone else noticed the awful smell in the Spar shop in Amwell End. It smells like something has died in the heating system. The staff have no idea or seem to care. Hubby was told to complain to head office if he didn't like the aroma in the shop.Thought that would be the managers job.

probably something to do with the drains again. They've been working in Star Street at night although not sure if it's every night. I've seen them on a Thursday evening. The smell in Star street is awful sometimes.

Sounds like a shop that wants to get closed for lack of customer service

Don't blame it on the staff - it's not their fault.

It's the manager's responsibility though to sort it out? Not really anything to do with the staff. They don't get paid for that.

last couple of times I've been in was served by lady in her 50s, who had such look of disgusted indignation on her face, as if serving in the shop was beneath her - looked for all the world like she had a bad smell under her nose! ( shop didn't smell that day though!)

Went into the Spar shop today - what a dismal place. The man at the counter could not even manage a smile or say thank you - just a grunt! Won't be going in there again if this is the way these types of shop operate.
