There's a feature about The Great Bed of Ware on the BBC History Magazine website, with a photo gallery that shows how "Six V&A experts took almost a week to dismantle the bed into 40 components":

Whichever day it is, I hope that the delivery lorry doesn't park in the High Street and cause traffic chaos :-)

In answer to previous queries - sorry I don't know the exact timing tomorrow. The Curator was slightly frazzled (understandably) so we didn't want to ask more!

I have just heard that the bed is scheduled to arrive at 10.30 this morning, so I'll run down and take a few photos for WOL.

Ended up with Craig and IGS taking film for WOL. The bed is in the Museum and ready to be unpacked. A beautiful sunny day with quite a crowd to watch including a bunch of kids from Christchurch school.

I think it's great we've got the Bed back, even though only on temporary loan. Thanks to those who took the photos - sadly I couldn't get there either. Just one point though - in the write-up linked from the front page of Wareonline, someone has put that "a hole had to made in the roof". In fact the roof of the extension was purposefully designed to come off, in the hope we would get the Bed on loan one day.
