The Mercury has a story about the Hertford Carnival in June, the first one the poor dears have managed to hold for a decade. A Hertfordian is quoted as saying it will be 'bigger than Ware's'!
We all know Ware is much nicer place to live than Hertford, but it is a little sad for them that their inferiority complex gets paraded in this way - especially as the County town you'd think they could concentrate on their own merits (such as they are), rather than trying to denigrate us! |

| Part of the problem is the Muckury as I don't think they have ever had any Ware reporters. So over the years artford always gets favourable press ware as Ware quite frankly has always got awful press - currently, their coverage of GBOB being a prime example. |

and people wonder why the Hertford - Ware feuding continues hundreds of years after it began.
Come on. Let's put it to rest once and for all. |

I read both Ware online and Hertford online.
This type of Hertford vs Ware debate only seems to occur here. #justsaying |

| That's not strictly accurate, as in a recent post in Herts on line a contributor referred to "sneaking over the border into Ware". |

| I would imagine, Sally B, that people in Crouchfields should be worrying that EHDC might surround them with housing estates either joining them to Ware, or to bengeo, or both! |

I hope Hertford carnival *is* bigger than Ware's, it would be wonderful to have two of them to go to and hopefully one will feed off the other and both will benefit.
Well done Hertford in bringing it back.
Shame on the Mercury for trying to stir up bad feeling |

| Hertford never come up with ideas of their own. They copied our Dickension evening with a Medieval night, our Rock in the Priory with Rock at the Castle, now they want to hold a Carnival. I’m sure that would copy our Parade of boats if they had a decent stretch of water for hold it on. |

I think it's a nice compliment!
