There was certainly a huge turnout in Ware but unfortunately I didn't get to see much from where I was standing. And when I did finally get a glimpse of the runner with her torch, she ran by so fast that if you blinked you missed her. I was quite disappointed.
Thankfully, I was able to see a lot more by watching the BBC video afterwards:

Click on the slider bar on the video to get the time at which to start watching. Ware starts at 10:45 am and ends at 11:05am.

| I only saw the flame over a few hundred heads, but it was great to see the whole town buzzing and I can say 'I was there.' |

Fantastic number turned out, I was just so suprised to see how many people went back to their cars etc and did not stay around for the carnival. There was a mass exedus towards Ctrane Mead etc (Where they had left their cars) as soon as the torch went past.
I would like to say thanks to all who did stay, as if the children were good enough to still parade in the downpour, then the visitors should have stated to cheer them on.
Just did not have the same atmosphere with the boat parade this year for some reason |

| My two girls braved the parade without any fuss, was so proud. The crowd that did stay were great, even in the down pours there was plenty of smiles. |

| I agree, the old bloke from wgc had to go up the hill, not well planned out. I was steward down in amwell end and it was manic! The only things wrong I think most people agree, only two from WARE carrying the torch, why andy French had to go all the way up north seems logistics isn't great. The other was the cash in merchants seeing whistles etc, same crap we get at dickens evening. |

I would have stayed - but some of us have to work. We don't all get weekends off! |

Very Well done to all involved!
Ware looked GREAT, and all WOL's should be proud.
Think of the extra income potentially coming into the town with the Olympics.... |

| Thankyou to everyone who visited Ware for the Olympic Flame procession. Special mention to Pat & George at The Worpell for allowing us to put up a gazebo outside. It definitely came in handy during the morning. |

Excuse me, but I think you'll find a Ware resident is moaning, not Ware Online.
Ware Online is the platform that allows residents and business owners to comment positively or otherwise about things that happen in the community. There aren't many towns that have this facility, so please don't knock it. Ware Online does much good for Ware.
Agreed. The atmosphere in the town was simply amazing. |

| I don't think he was complaining just stating a fact and he was right! And I'm not complaining either, it was nice to see so many people there and shame most of them left before the carnival. Hope the shops did ok out of yesterday. |

We watched the flame from outside play somthing and there was loads of space and a nice clear veiw. We saw the runner and the switch over. It was quick but then there's a whole country to cover! The carnival was once again amazing and in part due to the pouring rain and those brave kids and their parents sticking with it. Fantastic display and well done to all those involved including those behind the scenes.

| Due to being in the parade I never got may photos. Did someone take photos for the carnival album for the site? Was looking for a good shot of my girls. They were dressed as the 118 118 people from the advert? |
