| I do find it peculiar that people park on the gravel at the far end of the car perk. Today there seems to be ample space all over the car park in the proper bays. Are you, dear reader, one of the gravel parkers? If so I am just curious as to why. |

Yes, I have to admit, I have wondered the same. Often it's the 4x4 owners who think they have a divine right to park where they like and stuff everyone else!

I always thought the directional arrows were wrong in directing all traffic to the busiest pedestrian part of the car park. At least those parking on the gravel leave spaces free for others. |

| Are these people who park on the gravel hoping to avoid the present time restrictions and park for longer. Can they get away with it. |

The time restrictions are enforced by cameras which watch cars come and go and cannot see where cars are parked so I doubt that this is the case, unless the drivers don't understand the system.

| As they are usually 4x4s they need more space - I'd leave them be. That is as much off roading as most of them ever get. |

| not really on topic but yesterday we were shopping, looked at the beer and they had bottles of beer £1.99 each 2 for £5.00. My other half bought it to the attention of the management but I wonder was it a mistake or not? |

Standard practice for all the big supermarkets, always double check the 'offers'!! |

| The only bumps I have ever had have been in supermarket car parks so with wider vehicles I have to agree it's a good idea. |

This type of thing happens quite often. There is a web site that shows a lot of these, some teachers have used them for maths lessons getting children to spot mistakes. At the moment I can't find the web address but will post later if I find it. |

I used to do that with my son and now with my step son. My son is 14 now and his maths is superb so bit beneath him but he was brought up on me asking for 7 pints of milk and him working out best and cheapest way to acheive it and other such challenges. Wonder if his ease with maths is partly due to these exercises from a very young age, helping mummy.
I noticed that coffee was £4 for 200gms and £7 for 300gms and the big tub of 500g was £12. It worked out cheaper to buy the smaller jars (and less green but at least the glass is recyclable). You really have to watch the prices carefully as easy to make assumptions. |

If you have the eyes of a fighter pilot there are usually standard 'prices per 100 g' or similar unit measures beneath all prices at Tesco. You still need KateG28's kids' maths ability to double check these are right (they usually are) but then cross comparison is easy.
Confusion marketing writ large, I think .... |

| It is further complicated by the practice of the "2 for £x" only showing the price per gr or lit as the price if you were to buy just 1. i.e. you have to work it out yourself. Not difficult but irritating. |

Not on topic at all Mel so why not start a new thread on that subject? |
