Does anyone know whether any additional facilities are being provided for elderley and disabled people, wishing to watch the torch procession next week. In particular are any there going to be any extra parking spaces, near the road closures, as the several of the disabled parking spaces in town, are on the route, so will presumably be out of action. Any info or ideas greatly appreciated

| The closest accessible car park, i would think would be the one on the roundabout between watton road and baldock street. Kibes lane will be busy with the carnival assembling, & the library car park is stuck in the middle. |

Ideal car park will be the one on New Road. You will be a short distance from the Navigator corner, so will see the torch, carnival and could even see the boats if people would give you room on the bridge I often do this form my mother, who needs to use a chair (walking problems). All it means is you will need to hang back from the crowds if you want to go on to the fete |

I presume that, as happens with the carnival, the High Street will only be shut a short while before the torch events start so arrive before the road closures begin, park in the Library car park, then have a cup of coffee or lunch until things begin to happen.

Yes remember the library car park will get full very quickly . And that the one's outside Burrgage court are for the people that live there. I.e. Over 60 the first one near the gate is for emergencies . So please don't park there I know this is true because my mother lives there. I would think the town will be busy from about 9.30am, I am one of the marshals ,and we a being briefed at 9am

| I believe the torch goes through the High St at 10:38 am. They reckon the torch will be free of the town (or the other way round!) by 11 am and the carnival will follow straight after. |

| Does anyone know when access from Star Street to Crane Mead will be unavailable by car & road - without having to go via Stanstead Abbotts? Thanks in advance.... |
