The painting voted Favourite in Show at the Monday Art Club's exhibition held at the Age Concern Hall, Ware on Saturday 4 July as part of this year’s Ware Festival was Hot Finish by Burt Edwards.

The award was a copy of the “Artist's Colour Manual” by Simon Jennings donated by artist’s materials and supplies shop, The Art Box of East Street Ware.

Presenting the award to the winning artist Burt Edwards, Anne Laidler joint owner of The Art Box said, “We are glad of the opportunity to offer an award for the Favourite in Show, an award we believe encourages the creative work of the artists in the club.

Despite stiff competition from the high standard of other works in the exhibition Burt’s outstanding pastel painting Hot Finish is a deserving winner”.

On receiving the award Burt Edwards said, “I am very pleased and surprised as there was so much good work in the exhibition”.

Reg Burton, tutor to the club, said, “The standard of the all the works in the exhibition was very high”.
