The Ware Town Centre Parnership

The Ware Town Centre Parnership was set-up to actively liaise and co-operate with all the other existing interested groups, Committees and Initiatives (e.g. Ware Transportation Forum, Chamber of Trade & Commerce, Leisure & Amenities, Tourism, Ware Society, etc.) and with the Town, County and District Authorities initiatives.

To maximise promotion of the Town by encouraging promotional material on Ware, its' Market and facilities. To build contacts with the local media.

To enhance Ware's vitality and viability by attracting new investment and business which reflect and build on Ware's identity as a Heritage Market Town.

To secure an improved economic future for the Ware Town Centre and in doing so improve the quality of life for its' inhabitants.

To review transport and access, with co-ordination of private and public services (Taxis, Bus routes, etc). To investigate access around the town, and to town premises, for persons with mobility difficulties. To promote and encourage a 'Shopmobility' scheme. To improve and promote car parking facilities.

To establish a high level of security and public safety, and to improve public perception of this level of safety. To encourage the CCTV initiative. To improve Police liaison.

To improve the visual impact of Town Centre access points.

To encourage responsible ownership of properties, including letting, provision of homes over shops, improvement and maintenance of shop fronts, and the use and appearance of empty shops.

To carry out Surveys across all groups (eg Car Parking usage, Retail - including the Market - Short Term maintenance requirements to enhance the visual appearance of the Town Centre. etc). To identify what is required, and in what priority order.

To encourage Town Centre businesses and facilities to seek information from their own visitors on what their needs are at their premises.
