Message from The Mayor

Thursday 26 March 2020

The Mayor of Ware, Cllr Nina Villa, has asked us to pass on this important message.

Dear all,

This week, we have all woken up with worries, concerns and questions about what faces us for the next weeks and months. Our normal lives for the time being are on hold, our social lives have stalled and family life is curtailed. We face an invisible force and we all have to respond in this unnatural and difficult way. As your Mayor at this unprecedented time, I just wanted to pass on my thoughts, prayers and best wishes to every single one of you who lives or works in Ware.

I am incredibly proud of the response of the town’s businesses, voluntary organisations council staff and hundreds of Ware residents offering to help those who may need it. This is a town-wide effort to make sure that no one goes without vital medicines, or access to the food and supplies they need.

The Town Council offices at The Priory may be closed, but the Council is still here for you. Please do contact us on 01920 460316 or info@waretowncouncil.gov.uk. The Council will use its web site and social media to pass out information to the town. Please share this information where you can.

For information about how you can volunteer to help your neighbours please join the facebook group: COVID-19 Ware Community Support, visit Hertfordshire County Council’s website or the NHS website to join the NHS ‘Volunteer Army’.

Finally, I would urge everyone to take heed of the Prime Minister's instructions. Stay at Home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

Cllr. Nina L. Villa Ware Town Council - Trinity Ward
