Re: Buses to Harlow

Thanks for the info Jasmine98. I've looked at the timetables and at least they aren't running at the same time as the 724, as used to happen with the 524 before they went to a half hourly service. However I do note that their last bus back to Ware appears to be at 15.15 - so anyone needing to use it...

Re: Virgin broadband - again

Not really Mel, although I don't use it in the evening as much as during the day so I guess maybe it slows when lots of people come home? It did go a bit weird yesterday for a short time around lunchtime, again I guess a fault somewhere but it didn't last long.

Re: Buses to Harlow

Thanks for the info, I could have been really stuck because I just wouldn't have known otherwise - I'll have to keep my eyes open for any further news. It looks like I'll be getting up earlier to get the 724.

Re: Buses to Harlow

I do hope this isn't so; I've got an appointment at Princess Alexandria Hospital coming up. Can you tell us where you saw the announcement please?

Re: Bogus Door Collections

I have a simple rule: NEVER give money to ANYONE who knocks on your front door, regardless of what they're offering or any ID. No reputable company or organisation runs door-to-door operations these days. Avon? ;) Actually I agree - the easiest thing is to never buy anything at the door - I always ...

Re: New Windows shop in Star St. or Scam?

I think you can set your phone system to call "from" any number you want - so they won't necessarily call from a Ware location - it's just another trick to make you think it's not a spam call. The company are advertising for agents to earn extra money from your own home - so I thought that was prob...

Re: New Windows shop in Star St. or Scam?

I had a young man phone yesterday, also from a Ware number, obviously Brighter Homes now using people wanting to earn a bit extra phoning from their homes. He asked if I remembered him phoning last year (!), so I said Yes - I reported you then to TPS and will do so again!! I've now complained to TPS...

Re: Neighbourhood Watch Email scheme

We also receive the OWL Neighbourhood Watch messages. Some are of general interest and come from the Support Administrator; others come from the local Watch Liaison Officer or PCSOs. We joined after forming a Neighbourhood Watch group in our area. I guess they are now signing up individual household...

Re: Level Crossing Closure

Thanks for the Page Number Judie T. I tried looking earlier but lost the will to live before I found Ware! Looking at the entry I can't see any reference to closure - it's just one entry out of the 6,300 for level crossings everywhere on the Rail Network. It shows there have been 9 Misuse incidents ...
