Re: Town Council Elections

Thank you - when I looked earlier I couldn't see any reference to town council results.

Re: Town Council Elections

I've seen the EHDC election results - but does anyone know the Ware Town Council results? I presume we have one non-Tory, but does anyone know who this is?

Chimney Sweep

I wonder if anyone can recommend a local chimney sweep? We have used Brian Shambrook for years but sadly he is ill in hospital and is retiring so we need to find someone else.

Sorry - is it me? I looked at the list and there are enough Tory candidates in each ward to fill all the vacancies, assuming everyone here votes for them - and they probably will

Re: Save Ware Maltings Petition

Interesting that the Labour candidate has just signed. I seem to remember her efforts to save the Maltings plus a photo of her standing in front of it were on her election leaflet received a couple of weeks ago. Can't quote exactly from it as it was binned and recycled. :)

Re: Sainsbury's Local

Thank you for getting the clarification Craig. I'm glad we are still going to have Sainsbury's in town. The original rumour was passed on to my husband by another retailer in town. He should have known better - but at least now we can challenge him if he says it again!

Re: New Windows shop in Star St. or Scam?

I've just had a call from Brighter Homes of Harlow - they also say they are opening a shop in Ware and offered me a discount on new windows, fascias, doors etc. When I said I had had similar calls from the same firm for the past 5 years, had yet to see a shop open and had also complained to TPS abou...

Re: Sainsbury's Local

There seems to be a strong rumour in town this morning that Sainsbury's have pulled out of going into the old Co-op site, now being developed, and that we may be left with another empty retail unit in town.

Re: New Windows shop in Star St. or Scam?

As you got a telephone number for them, even though they weren't answering it and probably using it as a dummy number, can I suggest you report them to TPS and also to ICO (Information Commissioners Office). Both organisations have online reporting forms. It might not result in any direct action aga...

Re: Wine Lodge

We went past yesterday too - and saw doors open and lights on, but no-one seemingly inside. However our attention was really drawn to the new, big, shiny "For Sale" board attached at First floor level. So looks like someone bought it just to do it up and sell quick?
