I think its a good idea. The amount of pain getting to the other side both as a pedestrian or a cyclist, not to mention the reduction of risk of a traffic/person accident if done. The disruption would only be a one off though.

Oohh, that's an interesting find! I hope it will encourage the other flat owners along that side of the road to spruce up their flats with a lick of paint. It could look so much nicer down that part of town with a bit of minimal effort.

I had exactly the same thought Scottman! I was going on a family day out to Stansted Mountfichet castle. I could not believe it took me 20 mins to get through the high street at 9.45am and then another 3/4 hour to get through road works at Standen! What a joke, do they all come out together planned ...

I had found HSS in Harlow but it got me wondering whether there was a place closer to home. Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll go to HSS next time I'm in Harlow, hardly worth a trip just for that.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. Trying to get fitter this year, bike and walking. I cant just keep cycling down the boring flat tow path although got as far as dobbs weir this morning

Can you cycle it as well? Some parts of it lend itself well to biking e.g. around the ford. The place even has it's own motorway bridges to get in! I was interested in buying a house in Wadesmill a while back but ouldn't convince the other half (practicalities of kids transport etc). I wish I had in...

I finally got to walk around this fine place today, spring is finally coming out. Thanks for all the information. It's a lovely up there. Who owns the estate and does it open to the public? I felt like a naughty school boy peering in!
