Re: Swans
Sounds like an apocryphal tale along the lines of stories in the Daily Express that everything can be blamed on immigrants! Thanks for the link to the Ware Society research. It isn't that many years ago that we were all commenting on the large increase in the number swans on the river (I seem to rem...

Re: Additional Platform at Ware Station
I think we all know that a second track is not viable - what is more worrying is that someone in senior railway management has commissioned and presumably paid vast sums to some consultant who clearly has not visited the area or used a little bit of common sense - and then has not asked any question...

Re: Additional Platform at Ware Station
I can remember years ago when I used to commute and we had the new platform indicator boards installed at Ware. One of the station staff told me that they had cost nearly £12.000 and wondered what idiot had ordered them for the whole line without realising that Ware only had one platform for the one...

Re: Research into On-Street Parking in Christchurch Ward
Could I ask that you also look at the parking on or very close to corners of roads - we don't live in any of the roads that you mention but nearby and we find that is increasingly difficult to get out of our road due to this inconsiderate and dangerous parking. Much as I hate yellow lines, it seems ...

Re: Bogus caller ?
I think Trading Standards were interested in details on such leaflets due to previous problems with so-called tradespeople. Why not email them with the details.

Re: Asda Opens 14th May
Sadly for Tesco, the number of cars in their car park isn't necessarily an indication of the number of people shopping there. Being central and free for 3 hours, a lot of people use it rather than pay elsewhere. But it would be good if both can co-exist; I only wanted another supermarket to open to ...

Re: Two new businesses
Thanks for the link to Casita Bonita - this looks really an exciting addition to our HIgh Street. We had tried to look it up on the internet and obviously had spelled it wrong because we couldn't find it and wrongly assumed it would be a Tex-Mex style restaurant! However having travelled to Mexico o...

Re: Asda Opens 14th May
I haven't actually made it up to ASDA yet - but I'm going to have to give it a try as I came out of Tescos's this morning with only half my list completed and the rest no longer stocked there. First time ever - two managers waiting to say 'Good Morning' to me - but that doesn't make up for the lack ...

Re: Beware Fake Isobel Hospice Collectors
No point in asking for ID - it will be faked and who knows what a genuine one would look like. In fact Isobel Hospice has said they never use door-to-door collectors, so anyone claiming to be from them should be immediately reported to police.

Re: Asda Opens 14th May
Yes there are lots of other supermarkets not that far away - but only if you have a car. Those without their own transport in Ware (not just me I think!) have had to go to Tesco as the only supermarket in town who are now stocking less and less of what we want. So it means bus rides to Hertford to b...
