Re: District Plan Pre-submission Draft

5000 or so must just have been the number of houses we were able to leaflet for Burning Issue.

Re: District Plan Pre-submission Draft

When we leafletted Ware for Burning Issue to stop the incinerator there were about 5000 households to leaflet, so 1000 is a 20% increase. I haven't had a chance to read this yet, are there any plans for new schools, doctors, dentists etc?

Re: Waitrose

That's true. They still have to sort out the situation in Hertford with a shop they have said is inadequate for future needs, and is indeed extremely small but too large for a Waitrose Express or whatever they call it.

The Chairman's statement says the rate of future growth in numbers of stores will slow, not stop. it will be interesting to know what their plans are for Van Hages/hertford in light of this.

Re: Excellent blog on Grammar School Policy by Chauncy Head

Don;t know when you wet through the Kent system Matt40 but all the evidence now is that it is completely dominated by better off middle class families and that social exclusion and immobility is significantly increased by the continuing of the grammar system. We have friends with kids going to gramm...

Excellent blog on Grammar School Policy by Chauncy Head

Dennis O'Sullivan's take on the proposed grammar schools policy is well worth a read. I'll bet our two local supposedly non-selective schools will be jumping all over this idea if it survives scrutiny in Parliament. This is a good take on why they shouldn't, as local kids will be harmed. https://www...

Re: Ware Town Council Website Upgrade Suggestions

Great to hear the website will be upgraded, it really needs it. It would be useful to have timely information about Council meetings and committee meetings in an accessible format; how about a downloadable Ware history walk for smart phones of all kinds; and good integration with Ware Online for dis...
