Looking at the new parking tariffs in Ware and Hertford, it appears that the price of parking for 60-90 minutes has just doubled.
Previously the first 30 minutes would be free and then you paid 80p for the following hour.
Now, the free 30 minutes are included in (rather than in addition to) the 1 hour tariff, meaning a stay of between 60 and 90 minutes costs £1.60 when previously it would have been 80p.
I can't see any announcement about this other than the statutory Traffic Regulation Orders and signs about a new tariff on the car park noticeboards.
Obviously one wouldn't expect the so-called local newspaper to pick this up but it seems to have passed everyone by, including local retailers and the Town Council.
Parking Charges 2017
Re: Parking Charges 2017
And when did the £1 from 16:30 onwards disappear and turn into an 80p per hour rate? Noticed this change a month or two ago - disappointing...
