Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation

Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
Has anyone managed to fill the form in online? My son made a good comment about it the lights; the coloured lanterns are really nice and what we are used to but if they are to stay up the icicle would be less conspicuous.
Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
I couldn't do it online and couldn't be bothered to print it off and take it in but I did email them. I wouldn't like the lights to stay up all year round
Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
No, it's just a Word document, so no way to submit it online except download, fill in then email - or just email them your responses to the questions on the document.
Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
That's what I did.
Download and fill in the form. Then email it to the address provided (info@waretowncouncil.gov.uk).
Simples.

Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
I see the lights have been/are being removed at the moment.
There's a definite sense of a clean High Street, with Christmas removed. Makes me even more supportive of *not* keeping them up all year round. They would have to be mighty discrete!
And, of course, if kept up permanently, it would be an inconvenience for any High Street premises wishing to paint or do work on their frontage. If I were trading in the High Street, I doubt I'd support this.

Re: Christmas Lights - Town Council Consultation
Good to see the vast majority of responders are in favour of keeping the current lights and not having them up all the time.
TLA have RECOMMENDED:-
• to seek quotations for new lantern style lights
• to seek quotations for replacement of the existing bulbs with energy saving bulbs
• that the Christmas lights should not be left up all year round.

Did the fire brigade used to put them up at one time or is my memory playing games?
I think it was them who put all red lights outside Palms.

I think they just used to put the lights on the big tree outside the Priory not all through the town.Andy B wrote:Did the fire brigade used to put them up at one time or is my memory playing games?
