Planetsound?

Post by Warewolf »

Popped down on Friday to get some strings and a notice said they no longer open on Fridays, hope they are ok?

Funny you should post this as I noticed that the shop in Bishop's Stortford has a completely different name (in other words not Planet Sound).

That's because they have separated and so are not part of the same organisation.

Dominic has taken on the Stortford shop (which is called De Rosa Music), and the Ware operation is run by the other part of what was the PlaySomething partnership. I'm sure they'll be along to explain better than I can, but that's the gist.

It also looks like the keyboard part of the shop is empty?

Hi all

Please do not worry!

Because of the success of The Academy, our College partnership with Hertford Regional, starting the music provision for North Herts College in September, we decided that all staff and resources now have to focus on the education sector.

There are no redundancies just a positive and exciting expansion for the company. Retail has become such a very small part of our business and we have simply decided not to do it on the scale we have in the past.

Consumables will still be available in the HCM Coffee shop.

Any questions please do not hesitate to call me on 01920 460646 option 1.

I too am pleased the business is thriving. I'd also like to thank you for supplying so many of my guitars over the years - they're still being used regularly :D

So, as far as I'm aware, that leaves the nearest "physical" shops:

Hertford Guitar Studio in Railway Street, Hertford
GigGear in Edinburgh Way, near Tesco, Harlow
Coda Music in Stevenage Old Town

Obviously, there is also the big wide world of the Internet with all it's choices and competitive pricing. But for purchases like a guitar, people may well prefer the advice and oportunity to test individual instruments that only a brick & mortar shop can give.
