Sorry - is it me? I looked at the list and there are enough Tory candidates in each ward to fill all the vacancies, assuming everyone here votes for them - and they probably will

Trinity only has two Cons for the three seats, one is marked as withdrawn.

Someone has just informed me that Mark Prisk was at the back of Tesco; did you ask him why he's not going to the hustings where there will be a chair for him?

I didn't see him. I came out the High Street end. Shame I would have asked him about the hustings.

Received a Lib Dem leaflet and was very disappointed to see that they support the Tories in wanting to increase the number of houses in Ware by 60%, but don;t like the idea they should all be built on the north side. This surrender of the principle that Ware must for some reason absorb a vast proportion of East Herts new builds on green belt land for the next thirty years is extremely unhelpful to the town.

I was confused what their point was. Happy for 3,000 homes (district plans says between 200 & 3,000 I thought) but as long as it's spread out. Why this position ? If we get inflicted with 3,000 homes does it really make a difference where they are ? Hardly the biggest problem with the plan.

Exactly Wareite1969!! If we add 3000 houses to the 5000 or so currently in Ware we have a huge problem which the Lib Dems seem to have no understanding of at all!!

The only way people can stand in remote wards and win an election is if the local people just can't be bothered to represent themselves.
If you want a local candidate stand or persuade somebody local you think would be good to stand.

If nobody local is any good and the rest can't be bothered then you leave it open for an opportunist to come in from outside.

At least with a non local candidate you have some hope of representation. With no candidate you have no hope.

No point, they won't get in unless they are blue.

People don't stand because they know they are wasting their time not because they don't care.
