I see the old cinema (night club etc) is up for conversion to flats, with some retail units.

at least it will be tidied up and put to use at last.
I would still have preferred that it went back to the old arcade style which gave a number of businesses a start up.
Old Cinema
Re: Old Cinema
Looks a pretty intense development to me with very small rooms, but I agree it will be nice to have the building put to some use rather than rotting as it is now and at least there are car parking spaces included.
Re: Old Cinema
Parking spaces included - yes, 1 per 2 bed flat - and one of those is flagged as a disabled parking space, so in theory not even one per flat.

It's near the station and bus stop so people won't have cars.RichardH wrote:Parking spaces included - yes, 1 per 2 bed flat - and one of those is flagged as a disabled parking space, so in theory not even one per flat.
Re: Old Cinema
Pretty much *anything* would be an improvement on the club...

Decision scheduled for Development Management Committee on 26th April 2017.
Re: Old Cinema
Oohh, that's an interesting find! I hope it will encourage the other flat owners along that side of the road to spruce up their flats with a lick of paint. It could look so much nicer down that part of town with a bit of minimal effort.

They do look pokey.... along with most modern properties. Ok to move in to with nothing but hell to downsize to!
Re: Old Cinema
I believe the cinema/nightclub site got approved with zero parking. While the Amwell End site next to it got approved this year with some parking at the back, roughly one per dwelling.
