If I had £1000 to improve Ware I would...
Dear Ware Online
I'm keen to hear your ideas on how we could improve Ware.
Therefore, to get the creative ball rolling, I've posed the hypothetical unfinished statement "If I had £1000 to improve Ware I would..."
Please copy the statement into any replies...and finish it with your idea, it's that simple!
If there are any good/viable suggestions I'd be happy to look into making them happen.
#becreative #keepwarecreative
I look forward to hearing your ideas soon.
Kind regards

Replace that loose man hole cover thats just outside Ware Card Centre.
It must be driving the people that live / work around there insane.

Give it to the Wings to enhance the Summer flower display even more. Those two deserve a new year honours list mention!

Replace the awful trees behind the War Memorial.
I think that whole area would be a good place for a formal style park with those planted beds you see in some towns, at the moment it looks a right mess.
(do I get a prize for being the only one to read the op?)

Thanks to all for their interesting ideas (and thanks to The Masked Woler for correctly starting his/her post with "If I had £1000 to improve Ware I would...your prize is in the mail (maybe)!?).
Have also received lots of ideas via Twitter eg funding pop-up businesses, student business networking sessions and Town events to encourage visitors. Follow the discussion via @WareOldridge or #Ware1000
Will be having a discussion with Ware businesses in next week or so, so email me if you want your business to join in.
I look forward to hearing from lots more WareOnline forum members with their ideas...I'm sure everyone can think of something!
Kind regards and thanks for your support with this.

Buy as much Black and White paint as possible and give to the shops and other buildings in Baldock Street to paint their drab buildings, and try to smarten up that approach to Ware centre.

My children would really like to see some new swings over our local park,The Bourne. They were ripped out for sewer improvements in the park over a year ago and have never been replaced
The kids are NOT happy & neither am I, the swings have always been a firm favourite and are sadly missed! I'm guessing that's over the £1,000 budget though so how about something for the kids at Ware Lido such as a giant inflatable or a small water chute and some floating play things. It would be fab to have some timed 'Fun Swim' sessions there, this would be the icing on the cake for our little jewel of Ware!

If I had £1000 to improve Ware.... I would agree with The Masked Woler clearing up the garden behind the War Memorial. The War Memorial now looks lovely, especially with the flower beds on the wall beside it and then you look at the garden behind! Have to leave space for the pavement artist's competition though during the Ware Festival!

If I had £1000 to improve Ware.... I would pay for full insurance for anyone taking part in the carnival, so we can go back to having proper floats on the back of lorries.
