C4 Documentary

Post by IGS »

I was forwarded this email and I thought that those who have had no redress from Biffa or the District Council may be interested:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch. I’m writing with regards to a Channel 4 documentary we’re making about complaints and customer service in Britain.

We are a production company called Dragonfly Television; the makers of documentaries such as ‘One Born Every Minute’ and ‘The Plane Crash’.

We’re currently producing a new prime-time documentary series for Channel 4 about the UK complaints and customer service industry and we need to get the word out to people who may wish to tell us their stories.

We are specifically looking to hear from communities with complaints across four themes: Utility Companies, Councils, Transport and The High Street. No complaint is too small and we would love to hear from people who can share their experiences and give them a platform to voice their grievances.

We’re also looking for characters who complain a lot in general – people who won’t let things lie and always stand up for what they think is right.

Your debating society seems like the perfect hunting ground for people who are switched on and know that they need to fight for their rights in the face of bad customer service so I would be most grateful if you could forward this on to your members if you feel they may be interested.

I am always available by phone on 020 7033 2256 or by email on [email protected]

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Yours sincerely

Jonathan

Anybody involved in the court case against Biffa will have received letters from the legal representatives explaining how they should deal with this sort of request in respect of the case.

Those who've had "no redress from Biffa" aren't customers. And I don't think the District Council have anything to do with the site.

Before you all summarily dismiss this out of hand re-read paragraph 4 of the email which says that they want to give people a platform to voice their grievances. As for paragraph 5 every town has their characters and it would be up to them if they want to be made to look like a fool on tv.

So The High Court wasn't enough of a platform then.

Because the Westmill issue is wholly inappropriate for this programme, which is about consumer complaints and customer service, not civil or legal disputes. It would also be foolhardy IMHO to use the matter for television entertainment purposes when there may be an ongoing legal process. It may even be sub judice, I'm not sure.

RE-READ THE EMAIL. Legal processes aside it would be ideal for that kind of documentary. People have been complaining on here for years about the stink caused by Biffa and not getting any satisfaction when they have complained to the council or Biffa. I really don't understand your gripe. All I have done is pass on an email that I thought might be of some interest to people on this forum and I mentioned Biffa because that appears to be Ware's biggest problem. I wasn't expecting such negativity. As I said re-read the email.
