Blocking Road in Rush Hour
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
Please dont miss understand me! Of course deliveries have to be made but this old guy was over half an hour and parked no where near (that I could see) to his delivery address? Thus he did blocked more than half the road which was in itself obstructing the traffic. But agreed the other lorry could have squeezed through and I did offer to see him do such a manoeuvre. It just high lighted more bad parking and some pretty horrendous driving! For me in person I found the continued beeping the annoyance!
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
REG I sympathise, but isn't this topic on the wrong issue ? From your photos, it appears that the lorry is correctly (or necessarily) parked at the kerbside. As is the car opposite. The issue is that the road is too narrow to allow for vehicles to be parked both sides, particularly if a large goods vehicle (or fire engine?) needs to pass.
There are many roads like this in Ware, all with the same problem, which are much compounded by unintelligent driving. Too often drivers pointedly fail to read the road ahead - and drive into positions which block the flow and prevent traffic passing in the other direction while they wait. High Street and New Road are the classic examples on repeated occasions.

Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
I was caught in the backlog of traffic. I was on High Oak Road so could not see what the problem was. Eventually I turned round and went via Kingsway. Could a solution be only allowing parking on one side of the road as happens on many roads?
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
I have to agree the red peugeot is the only one parking with no consideration to others, completely on the pavement....
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
Give the poor driver a break. He needed to make a delivery, he opted for what appeared to be the best solution to him. There was a considerable amount of room for vehicles to get though. If that red Peugeot had not been completely on the pavement he may have been able to park somewhat off-road, although that would be dependant on the taillift. As to the alleged age of the driver - please do not be so offensive towards a person you do not even know.

Could he not have done that either in front of or behind the car?JCB wrote: he may have been able to park somewhat off-road,
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
What's a heavy earthmoving lorry doing there? Is there some building development going on along the Bourne?
Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
In reply;
1. The red peugeot was not there when the lorry parked!
2. The red peageot always parks there!!!!!
3. One parked car was jutted out enough to make driving through impossible, for Llynch truck from works in The Bourne Park.
4. I have been told via a neighbour that no delivery was made, he was having a break? He frequently blocks the road further up.
5. As for the word old - it is not meant to be offensive but merely descriptive.

So he parks there Tempuraily ?

Re: Blocking Road in Rush Hour
And if the traffic wardens dealt with problem parking on the streets then they might have been walking around to see this. Instead, as always, they are doing revenue generation from people overstaying for a minute or two in carparks. Lucrative for East Herts, useless for the town
