Shaving is essential for some workers. For example, many companies dealing with food do not allow men to have beards as do operators of certain machines. (Although, I think in some cases they can wear a beard net - sorry I don't know if it has a proper name.) However, I agree with the main points above - women's sanitary products should be VAT free (but it can only be removed by the EU) and that Mark Prisk is out of touch with the views of many in ghis consticuency and the majority of the country. I believe the EU are voting next year whether to abolish VAT on sanitary products.

Don't some religions prohibit shaving (for men) so wouldn't that be religious discrimination?
I believe a beard net should be suffice.

Its great that the EU are looking into it and a shame the UK decided not to add weight to that process.

We don't know yet just what our PM will be asking for of the EU in his renegotiations but we know this Taxation issue isn't going to be part of it.
