And anyone who thinks being more expensive than other shops/restaurants in town won't work, then take a look at the price differences in bars/restaurants in town...clearly this will not stop it working as it clearly has done in Cambridge.

Just because some people don't want to pay a few pounds more for something doesn't mean others will not.

Ware can clearly support food businesses charging more than their competition for a nicer atmosphere and different clientele.

I do appear to have confused the eat in and take away menus. The take away one is only about 30% more expensive than Kingshill, its the eat in one that is twice as expensive.

When Kingshill changed hands in my opinion it went downhill from the original owners. The same thing has happened here in NZ a good chippy changed hands and now do not use it we use one run by two Poms.

The reason why traditionally fish and chip shops are not open on Mondays is because the fishing boats don't, or didn't, go out on Sundays so the fish would not be fresh.

Not true. This is an urban myth. The reason is actually because the British traditionally have a Sunday roast on a Sunday and eat the leftovers on a Monday and therefore traditionally never bought fish and chips.
And nowadays most fish and chip shops sell fish that is frozen at sea (which is technically fresher then 'fresh' fish), partially because it is caught in the Baltic Sea or Icelandic waters or Russian waters which have sustainable fish stocks (the North Sea has some issues and is awaiting confirmation the fish stocks are sustainable)

Echo that 100%. And Wrights' fish is very very good!

Any new fish and chippery will have to be good to survive, there's probably enough money in Ware now to support high end if that's what they are. Don't get the name though, The SeaTree? What's that mean?
What I don't understand is why there's so much duplication in Wares eateries. That'll make 4 fish+chips, then there's 5 or 6 pizza places, ditto chinese, few less indian. You'd think if you were starting something new it would different. Where's the nearest noodles bar? Or even sushi?... maybe a step too far?

Just head down towards London and you'll see that our duplication is nothing. I am always amazed by the number of fried chicken joints all over the place - in Brimsdown last year, I could see 7 from one spot on the pavement alone...

I remember all the fuss made on here when our one fried chicken joint was about to open......
