Asda are applying for a 24-hour alcohol license - extended opening hours application will almost certainly follow. Not sure it's appropriate for a residential area! Application is open to comments until 16th December 2019.

Due to the diligence of the resurrected local residents' committee, who obtained 290 signatures on a petition and achieved the support of local councillors, both applications have been withdrawn. They are the application for a 24 hour alcohol licence and another application for 24 hour opening. ASDA have also apologised to residents for the upset caused by the fact that they had ignored promises agreed in writing between ASDA and local residents when the store first opened. One of these promises was that the current opening hours would never be changed.

This is another fine example of how the collective power of local people can prevent us being pushed around by the big conglomerates.
