Old Mattresses...

I dunno if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes - any idea where I can put an old mattress I don't need anymore ? I could use the public landfill site place at the backend of Ware, does anyone know if they'll accept mattresses ? However, that's a not very green option. Even better it'd be useful if someone could suggest somewhere that might re-use them ? I'm thinking here of all the homeless people who could really use something like this... I'm wondering if there are homeless charities that have hostels or warehouse rooms or something that are a basic sleeping shelter for people that could do with spare mattresses. If anyone has any idea, give us a shout !! Monkee x

Monkee they do accept mattresses at the waste site. Or you could try the Salvation Army.

Isn't it traditional to just chuck it in the river like everyone else? [}:)] FB

Salvation Army sounds more like it - do they reuse them somehow ? I like the idea of it being reused somehow. River - ummmm. No.

Of course, if all fails, you could put the old mattress underneath your new mattress. [:D]

I would recommend freecycle too if you have no luck with salvation army. I'm sure I have seen people placing ads on the site asking for matresses in the past.
