St Margarets Level Crossing

Am I getting impatient in my middle age?, its just that since the new level crossing barrier was installed at St Margarets, I find the time taken for the barrier to raise after a train passes much longer than before. This has a knock on effect with the traffic queues in both directions. Plus I have a conspiracy theory that when ever I drive by the barrier goes down..as if it's waiting for me...

You're not the only one to notice that it is taking a lot longer for the barriers to raise after trains have gone past. It is very annoying, especially because traffic tends to build up very quickly in the mornings, and they dont always leave gaps for other traffic to get out of the side roads any more!! whatever happened to considerate drivers?? I know that this will not apply to everyone!!!

When I was growing up in St Margarets 20 or so years ago the barriers always took a long time to open, I don't think it's a new thing at all. Often they would keep closed for 2 trains to go past!
