The young people in Ware seem to have plenty of time on their hands - how about devoting a part of this website to their news and views? They obviously want to contribute so they might enjoy swapping messages and getting together - wouldn't fancy being the moderator though! At least they could organise their own events if "old pubs" are not their thing. What does everyone think?

This has been suggested numerous times before and space has been offered to any group young and old. How many young people came back and said they'd like do it? That's right - none. Even the Skateboarders, who were very active on this forum a few months ago went quiet when asked if they'd like to contribute to their own section. I think community spirit isn't something they what to be part of, though I'm happy to be proved wrong. Any takers, contact Ware Online.

Couldn't you just have a new Forum titled something like "Young Ware" so that they can make of it what they will. It doesn't have to be anything more complicated than that, does it? If no one posts, you could pull the forum......

I'd really like to steer clear of anything that identifies or attracts young people to a certain area of the site. Call me paranoid, but who is to say how old someone is - Picture the scene. "Hey - lets meet and exchange biology homework." later... "Oh - you're 42."

OK - you are the boss and I fully understand your reasons Interloper

It sounds a great idea, but as Craig said the skateboarders soon went quiet when asked if they wanted a section of the website devoted to them.

Good to see that there was a disco for 11 to 16 year olds at the Drill Hall on Saturday. Exactly what is needed to give these kids something to do other than hang around the streets. I wonder how it went. Did any of our youngsters go? Did you enjoy it? Should it become a regular event? It'd also be interesting to hear from the organisers. Was it profitable? Trouble free? Will you be running it again? I would have thought that the age spread was a bit large. 16 year olds don't want to mix with 11 year olds. Maybe better to have one for 11 to 14 year olds and another for 15 to 17 year olds. Any thoughts?

hello? Anyone know anything at all about the teens disco at the Drill Hall weekend before last??

There's also postings from kids sayig that there's nothing for them to do. Finally when someone gets around to doing something proactive there seems to be a total lack of interest from all parties. Surely someone must have something to say about this event?

hi all i know the last post on this topic was made a while ago but i just asked out of curiosity because if there wasn't that many young people signed up on here then that could be why there hasn't been much of a responce to a forum being made for the younger members. Also what age would you class young people as?

I'm 14. I guess that counts as young. I've been hanging around these forums reading topics for a while but I really haven't had anything to contribute.

Hi I am 55 (definately not young) and also hang around the forums and do not contributing very often. I think lots of people do. its probably nothing to do with age or the lack of it.

Im 17 but didnt know if that classed as a youngester at all? thats all
Reply ID 4669
sorry I wasn't meaning to sound sarcastic. I think 17 is young enough to be considered young.

ok chrissie just wondered how young you meant for people wen sayin young peoples forum etc thats all but im almost 18 [:D]

I guess that, in my opinion, young people are too old to hang around with their parents but too young to go to the pub with their mates. I think that at almost 18 you are a young adult but not a young person! I am not sure that that is very clear but I think I know what I mean. anyway enjoy being the age you are and don't let us oldies spoil it for you x

I understand wot your sayin chrissie and thank you for your help i just wasnt sure whether i were classed as a young person or not lol so i'll class myself as a young adult from next week. I am enjoying the age i am and i don't let others spoil it for me no point in letting people get me down about my age and stuff thanks again and take care

Hi Donna .it sounds as if you have a sensible head on your shoulders. just remember that lots the 'older people' in this world have done their share of 'teenage' things in their past but most have grown up now! and for the record I think that an 'older person' is someone who uses the term young people! I will stop now as I am not sure that I should be saying so much on a forum called 'young peoples forum'! bye bye enjoy the sunshine x
