lofts

We're thinking of having a loft extension next year, but know nothing about how to go about it, what comes first, the architect, the builder, the planning permission etc, how much it'll cost and whether, technically it's possible, as we have the chimney breast running through the centre of our property, making for a difficult space in the loft, obviously. Has anyone had recent experience of the above? Anyone know a good builder? Rough pricing etc?

We're looking at having a rear extension (but they also do lofts) and are going through a Management Agency. They are Architects and will manage the whole project for you (draw plans, apply for permission, find the builders etc). Mind you, they will charge for their services... But they offer an initial free property assessement, so they'll let you know if it is possible and give you a rough estimate. CHeck them out @ http://www.het.co.uk Otherwise you can have a look at the following sites if you want to go on your own: http://www.het.co.uk http://www.het.co.uk Good luck
