Event:Film: The Favourite
Details: In the early 18th Century, England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. A frail Queen Anne occupies the throne, and her close friend, Lady Sarah, governs the country in her stead, while tending to Annes ill health and mercurial temper. When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, and Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots.

Event:Acoustic Sets at the Southern Maltings
Details: The next of our 'Acoustic Sets' nights brings you five performances by musicians from the acoustic, folk, roots and blues circuit.

Our main guests on our May evening are The Huxleys, with support from Sam Smith, That Blue Patch, Pat Crilly and Steve Ingrey

Tickets will be available on the door at the bargain price of £5.00. Doors open at 7.30pm with music starting promptly at 8.00pm

'Acoustic Sets' is NOT an open mic event. Support slots are booked in advance by prior agreement only.

Event:Cream Teas at Place House Hall
Details: Cream Teas at Place House Hall - an enchanting Grade I listed building in the heart of Ware on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May 2.30pm - 5pm. Homemade scones, cakes and other refreshments on sale; prices start from £3.50 for a pot of tea and a scone with jam & cream. Organised by Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust (reg. charity number 232686) all proceeds go to the upkeep of the hall. Coincides with the Ware Town Tour (contact Ware Town Council www.waretowncouncil.gov.uk for details)
