New riverside real ale festival needs your help this weekend in bid to raise over £1000 for good causes.
The Town's long historical association with beer making is being put to good use at the Beer Festival which is organised for the first time in conjunction with the Ware Festival Committee at Fletchers Lea in the Priory grounds on Saturday 12 July.
The 2014 Ware Festival begins on Saturday (5 July) with Carnival Day and continues right through the month, culminating with the famous Rock in the Priory.
The theme for Ware Festival 2014 is 'Cartoons and Superheroes'.
The festivities start down by the riverside on Friday (4 July) when members of the Lea & Stort Inland Waterways Association arrive in Ware with their flotilla of boats.

Ware Town Council & Hertfordshire College of Music are delighted to announce the line up for Rock in the Priory 2014.
The well established RiTP Showcase took place in Fletcher’s Lea over the weekend 25-27 April but this year there was a twist.

Official Showcase dates for Rock in the Priory 2014 have now been released. It’s a chance to get a first-look at the possible line for this years Rock at The Priory.
After much deliberation the following bands are through to the Showcase Gigs which take place in Fletcher’s Lea at Ware Priory over the weekend 25th April.

Take one small historic town, a whole host of great food retailers & superb eateries and you have Ware’s first celebration showcase of the wonderful array of food it offers.
An earlier survey of Ware’s shops, restaurants, cafes and other food businesses showed keen support for the opportunity to show what it can offer.

Hertfordshire College of Music and the Ware Town Council are again seeking talented musicians to play at the 2014 Rock in The Priory.
Applications are invited from bands and artists who would like to perform at the one day festival on Sunday 27 July 2014, at The Priory, Ware.

Public Meeting: Save the Southern Maltings 11 Feb 2014
Ware Town Council are to hold a public meeting to discuss the future of the Southern Maltings in Kibes Lane, Ware.
The Ware Town Council were contacted by residents and local organisations who were concerned about the future of the Southern Maltings after East Herts Council put the building up for sale, without consultation on possible community uses.
Ware Town By-election 5 Feb 2014
A town council by-election will be held in Ware on Thursday 20th February 2014.
The election follows the recent death of Cllr.George Powell, who represented the Christchurch ward on the council.
Ware Festival 2014: Theme Announced 27 Jan 2014
Carnival Day 2014 falls on Saturday 5 July and the theme is ‘Cartoons & Superheroes’.
The month-long Ware Festival isn’t just about Carnival Weekend. There will be lots going on throughout the month including Festival favourites like the Raft Race & Pavement Artists Competition.
New for 2014 is the first ever Ware Festival Beer Festival.
Plans Revealed for Tudor Square 14 Jan 2014
Following a public consultation in September 2012 and the annoucement in April 2013 that £71,000 had been earmarked for the proposed improvements to Tudor Square, the plans are now complete and are being shared with the public.
During this time, the Ware Town Council have have been working closely with a landscape designer and East Herts Council to develop a scheme that will be a lasting improvement to the town.
Councillor George Powell Dies 29 Nov 2013
George Powell, a former town mayor and Councillor of Ware, died of lung cancer on Monday (25 November).
A minute’s silence was held at Mondays meeting of the finance and resources committee in which he was a member.
George, aged 65, a well-respected member of the council and community, moved to Ware in 1976 with his wife, Angela, and has brought up two sons and a daughter in the town.
Ware Festival beneficiaries announced 7 Oct 2013
At last weeks Ware Festival AGM, the Chairman, Cllr Phyllis Ballam was pleased to present cheques to the beneficiaries of the 2013 Ware Festival.
These included Herts and Essex Border Riding for the Disabled, Ware Food Bank and Herts County Sound.

Calling all Bands: Rock in the Priory Needs You 27 Jan 2013
Playsomething and the Ware Town Council are inviting bands to register their interest for the Rock in the Priory showcase event. The best performers are selected for a much-coveted place in the line-up for the 2013 Rock in The Priory.
Rock in the Priory is Ware’s ever popular one day music festival which takes place on Sunday, 28th July, noon through to 8.00pm.

Ware Town Council and a local newspaper are inviting nominations for the Cheery Trader Award.
Last year’s winner by miles was Karen Howe-Shepherd of Simply Silver who was nominated for her cheerful, happy & helpful attitude.
Town Council Consults on Tudor Square Proposals 5 Sep 2012
Ware Town Council is seeking residents’ views on new proposals for improvements to Tudor Square.
The public consultation will take place in Tudor Square this weekend, on Saturday 8 September from 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3pm then on Sunday 9 September from 10am to 12 noon.
Frustration at Ware Annual Town Meeting 3 May 2012
At a well attended but subdued Annual Town Meeting at Fletchers Lea on Monday 30 April, both councillors and residents were left puzzled and frustrated by decisions being made by East Herts District Council affecting Ware.
Residents also expressed frustration at continuing failures to progress on longstanding community issues.

Council Elects Youngest Mayor in the Country 15 Jun 2009
Cllr Katy Little was elected Mayor for the new Civic Year at a ceremony at the Ware Priory on 18th May making her the country's youngest mayor. Mayor Little gives a video introduction to the town of Ware.

Under a scheme approved by the Charity Commissioners, the Trustees of the Ware Charities are able to give financial assistance to persons in need, hardship or distress provided they live in the area administered by Ware Town Council or in the civic parishes of Thundridge and Wareside.
