Ware Lido Opens: 25 May 16 May 2013

Ware Priory Lido opens on 25 May ready for half-term week and celebrates with a demonstration Water Polo match by Hertford Water Polo Club.

Ware Town Council and volunteers from Friends of Ware Lido (FOWL) are working hard to get the heated outdoor swimming pools at Ware Priory ready for our Opening Day.

Witness Appeal: Attempted theft from 87 year old 13 May 2013

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted theft took place in Ware.

The offence occurred on Saturday, May 4th at 2pm in Priory Car Park. The victim, an 87 year old woman, was followed into the car park from the pedestrian crossing near to the library.

Six-year-old Samuel set for 10k charity walk 7 May 2013
A six-year-old boy from Ware is taking part in a sponsored 10km walk to raise money for the child he sponsors in Senegal through the anti-poverty charity ActionAid.

Samuel Atkins is taking part in the 'Just Walk' event in the South Downs National Park on 11 May with his parents Sandrine and Neil Atkins.

Riverboat service launches with a splash 4 May 2013
This Friday (3rd May) saw the inaugural sailing of a new riverboat service linking Ware and Hertford. Ware Online’s intrepid reporter was there along with the Mayor and other dignitaries to experience the trip first hand.

Operated by the Lee and Stort Boat Company, the service is ideal for locals or visitors looking for a leisurely way to enjoy the Meads and River as part of a visit to Hertford.

Roebuck demolition and homes plan submitted 7 Apr 2013
A planning application has been submitted for 14 new homes on the site currently occupied by the Roebuck Hotel.

The One Property Group and Akkeron Hotel Group's proposal features 2no 3 bedroomed houses and 12no 4 bedroomed, 3 storey houses together with car parking and access.

Last chance to see the Great Bed In Ware 30 Mar 2013
The Great Bed of Ware is due to be returned to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London after being loaned to the Ware Museum in March last year.

The bed was last seen in the town over 150 years ago and will be missed by all who have seen the bed in the Ware Museum.

Ware Brass to embark on National Finals Challenge 20 Mar 2013
Ware Brass secured 3rd place at the London & Southern Counties Regional Championships last Sunday, 17 March, which took place at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre.

In a field of eighteen bands, the band was beaten by winners Hitchin, and Epsom & Ewell who claimed 2nd place.
