Welcome to Ware Festival July 2008
The eigth Ware Festival approaches, our fantastic month long extravaganza, which involves so many of our local organisations.
Carnival Day 2008 is Saturday 5th July and the parade will be followed by our Town Fair. Details can be found inside the official programme and on Ware Online of the timings for both the river and street parades. Please come along to both these parades and cheer on the participants.
Dont't be surprised if you see ballerinas, morris men or Cossack dancers - perhaps a shimmying belly dancer too - with the theme 'Come Dancing, Not Strictly' you could be swept off your feet in the High Street.
The dance theme will continue at the Town Fair alongside all your favourite stalls.
The Ware Festival begins with the carnival weekend and ends with The now famous Rock in the Priory.
Carnival Weekend: Friday 4th July, River Festival as the Boaters arrive; Saturday 5th July is Carnival Day with the river parade starting at 1.00pm by the Ware Lock followed by the Town Parade at 1.25pm; Ware Operatic Society Music for a Summers evening, 7.30pm. Ware Festival & Carnival relies on the core of volunteers who form the committee and give their time to plan and organise the town fair and procession and the events. Thanks to all of my committee and to all of the Town council staff who have helped plan the Festival Events.
Please make the hard work and effort worth while by attending one or more of the events - there is something for all tastes and age ranges! The Ware Festival Committee look forward to meeting many of you during the Ware Festival Events in July.
