| I bought petrol in Buntingford this morning, at the further BP station. Unleaded was £1.39. I didn't go to the other one, next to the old Sainsbury depot, as it cost £1.50 there! |

Isn't it funny Once again all the replies are telling people to go to garages that are outside Ware. No wonder the town's dying. What about the Total garage off star street?
Keep it local and you won't lose it! |

From memory, the garage in Ware, off Star Street is at least five pence a litre more expensive than my regular. If there was a similar priced petrol seller in Ware, I would use it. |

I went past Widbury Hill garage on my way to Brookfield and saw the queues so I didn't go past any other local garages. Apart from Widbury Hill there are no garages in Ware anyway. The nearest one apart from that is the other side of Hertford and going into Hoddesdon? |

| Widbury Hill are open now and also the garage the other side of Hertford. I did see one pump closed down but they were definitely open. £138.9 I think there. |

Wickenman, i read that site and to my mind there is no practical difference between brands of petrol. If all suppliers put in additives to improve performance then surely the difference between the quality of additives would be barely noticable. Although i guess you might tell the difference between fuels with and without additives.
I bought my current car from new in Aug 1992 so is just short of 20 years old, I fill the tank with the cheapest petrol and put in only £20 of more expensive fuel when i can't find cheaper or i'm running very low. its done 110,000 miles, not a lot by some standards, in 1992 it was claimed by the sales blurb to have 40mpg,never reached that figure even on long motorway trips and still does over 30mpg today. Although i am not a speed merchant, i do travel at the max permitted speeds in the UK and on the Continent, and it has never needed any engine repairs other than the rotor arm disintegrated last year and was replaced. In my view all fuels are the same, or at least they give the same performance, it's only the way you drive a car that will influence your fuel consumption. |
