Ware is all set for the Ware Dickensian Evening, the town's annual festive street party which takes place on Friday December 2nd 2011.

As last year, where it is estimated more than 10,000 people attended the event, roads in the town centre will be closed and traffic diversions will be in place.

Action for Market Towns and the University of Hertfordshire are currently conducting a Benchmarking exercise in Ware Town Centre.

Residents and business owners are being invited to take part in an online survey.

A huge number of BMX riders, Scooters, Inliners and Skate Boarders flooded in to the Priory Grounds on Sunday 16th October, to celebrate the opening of the long awaited Skate Park.

Although the event was due to open at 1.00 pm, there were already keen riders congregating at 11.00 am, anxious to be the first on the new ramps.

Ware Skate Park Scheme (WASPS) will soon be celebrating as their 5 year campaign ends with the opening of the permanent skate park in the Priory Grounds in Ware.

The final surfaces will be added to the ramp frames this week just in time for the opening on Sunday 16th October.

At a packed awards ceremony in Colchester yesterday the Ware in Bloom Team were delighted to once again reach a GOLD award from the Anglia in Bloom judges - retaining their award from 2010.

Judges praised the community spirit in the town and the increasing support and involvement of local businesses.

The Ware in Bloom Committee are appealing for extra help in the run-up to judging.  The judges from Anglia in Bloom visit the town next week (Wednesday 13 July) so a clean-up day gas been organised.

Following our successful season of Ghost Walks, Ware Town Partnership has introduced a new walk for the summer months the "Ware Historic Pub Walk - a stroll around the Most Pubbed Town in Hertfordshire."

Ware Town Partnership has been awarded a £5000 Grassroots grant (over the next 3 years) to assist us in securing the future of Dickensian Evening.

The final Ware Ghost Walk will take place on Friday 20 March. After a successful relaunch the Ghost walks will stop until their return of the revised walks (including new tales of spooky happenings!) in October 2009.

The Ware Ghost Walk has returned after a 7 year gap and has received such a response from the public that extra dates have been added to the programme.

A Saturday Ware Farmers' Market is on Saturday 20 September 2008, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm in Tudor Square, Ware.

Entries are now being invited to the second annual Ware In Bloom competition with a variety of categories to involve the whole town.
