Take Away Food

Post by jasmine98 »

At last the refurbished takeaway in Amwell End has opened as USA Fried Chicken.
Having made two visits over the past few weeks I must say this is the tastiest
Southern Fried I have eaten for a long time. Nice friendly people, good sized
portions and reasonable prices too.

Is it free range organic chicken cooked in organic and clean oil and are the staff paid a reasonable wage and do they serve vegetarian food and/or salad?
Oh I doubt it somehow - won't be wasting my money there then and will continue to cook my own and guess what? I won't be dropping my discarded food wrapper on the street either like so many others.
Ooops - I fell off my soap box

Organic food production isn't the earth saver it's been sold in as. It would be impossible to feed the world using "organic" farming.
So Organic is basically the posh choice.
As for the oil, Canola oil is supposed to be very good but much of it is from genetically modified stock so we're back to the unsustainable organic option.

Thank you for your interesting comments JudieT but I cannot answer your questions, it is another business that has opened a shop in the town, presumably paying their dues, so deserve to be given a chance to succeed. All I can say is, the product seems good and the staff seem happy and keen on their work. I doubt that many people when using a takeaway or restaurant, interrogate the staff to this extent, and I certainly do not drop wrappings in the street.
